We're Mad as Hell
151,000 small independent gas dealers and c-store owners are almost literally being "shot in the head" by "Big Oil," the credit card and finance industry, lottery systems and huge vendors of candy, snacks, tobacco and beverages. If it doesn't change, they are going out of business!

Take a look at the gas dealer's margins - and ask yourself why you would want to stay in a business like this!

Gasoline Retailers: It’s Time to Fight Back!

Food For Thought: For every four dollars you spend to fuel up your car, the gas retailer that owns that station makes thirteen cents.

Right now, there are over 151,000 independent gas stations dotting the U.S landscape. Gasoline retailers are the hometown entrepreneurs that, literally, keep America running. Yet, even in the face of soaring oil prices, your local gas dealers are struggling to stay afloat.

In the face of long hours, huge overhead and often unsafe working conditions, more and more gasoline dealers are folding under pressure. And less gas stations could mean the very real possibility of watching an already fragile economy come to a screeching halt.

The root of the problem is threefold: First, major credit card companies are charging extreme fees for each transaction- at the pump and inside the convenience store. Also, high volume packaged goods companies (the makers of all those sweet snacks, potato chip munchies and must have energy drinks) have increased prices dramatically over the past few years, cutting into the gasoline retailers’ profit margins. Finally, and most importantly, Big Oil is continuing to put the squeeze on these individual gas dealers.

The problem is real, and it affects everyone. That’s where DANM comes in. Dealers Against No Margins is a lobbying movement- one that’s gaining momentum as more people realize that price gouging and unfair markups are costing honest Americans their livelihood.

It’s time for Gasoline retailers to be represented-- in Washington, and in the media. Join DAMN today, and make a difference that will impact the future of our country.

Because it’s time for Americans to start giving a DANM.
